ILFC 1032 FUEL INHIBITOR
ILFC 1032 Fuel Inhibitor is a compound composed of a detergent, a
dispersant, a biocide, a demulsifier, a corrosion inhibitor, a metal deactivator, and a
polymerization retardant. It is an improved version of an inhibitor originally developed
at Bell Telephone Laboratories for use in standby power systems.
PRODUCT SUMMARY: A diesel fuel inhibitor which disperses existing macroscopic
sludge and retards further repolymerization. It:
-Keeps diesel fuel pumpable and combustible
-Cleans and lubricates injectors
-Eliminates filter plugging and injector scoring
-Retards internal tank corrosion
-Eliminates bacteria growth
THE PROBLEM: Today's catalytically cracked diesel fuel oils are significantly less
stable than the 1970's straight run fuel. The cracked fuels begin to deteriorate the
minute they are refined. As it ages, fuel in storage repolymerizes forming microscopic
particles that score fuel metering injectors. As repolymerization continues, the molecular
chains become longer and longer, forming large agglomerates (macroscopic sludge).
Eventually the fuel may become umpumpable and even noncombustible.
THE SOLUTION: ILFC 1032 Fuel Inhibitor disperses
existing macroscopic sludge and retards further repolymerization. It is designed to be
used at a rate of 1 gallon for every 10,000 gallons of stored fuel. Periodic retreatment
based on scientific testing, permits perpetual fuel storage.
In addition, ILFC 1032 Fuel Inhibitor contains
detergents to keep fuel pumps and injector orifices clean, and a lubricant for injector
jets; corrosion inhibitors to prevent internal tank corrosion; metal deactivators to
prevent catalytic oxidation; and a biocide to control bacteria growth. Unlike other
inhibitors, it contains no lighter alcohols to interfere with the separation of water and
fuel oil.
Properly used ILFC 1032 Fuel Inhibitor will assure
that pumpable, combustible fuel is always available whenever an emergency calls for the
use of standby power.
